Big Pulse has a keen understanding of the pressures and challenges facing artists and the dance sector as a whole. 

One of the strands of activities devised to address these concerns are the Winter Intensives paired with a mentoring programme. The Winter Intensives, hosted annually by partner festivals, will bring Big Pulse artists, arts workers and festival teams together to share knowledge and discuss key topics of relevance to the sector. 

To enhance the Winter Intensives, mentors will bring their wealth of knowledge and offer guidance to the Big Pulse artists as they navigate their developing careers.

Both the Winter Intensives and the mentoring programme will focus on developing leadership and project management skills, as well as addressing ecological and other urgent questions to help create a sustainable working environment. 

Learnings from these week-long workshops and discussions will later be compiled into reports and guidebooks that aim to offer valuable insights and knowledge to the greater dance community and further strengthen the sector.
