As the Big Pulse Dance Alliance project draws to a close, it leaves a sustainable pathway for future collaboration in contemporary dance. The Turin Declaration, developed through Big Pulse’s collective insights, provides a roadmap for policymakers, cultural leaders, and dance professionals to sustain European contemporary dance on a global scale, enriched by sustainability, diversity, innovation and collaboration.

Two main pillars ensure this continuity. First, the Dance Festivals Network Europe launched in November 2024, with operations commencing in January 2025, uniting 18 partners from 18 countries, with plans for further expansion. This project-based network offers membership through active participation in supported initiatives. Second, the Visiting Artist Programme expands from 12 to 23 partners, as a Creative Europe small-scale project launching in February 2025.

Inspired by Big Pulse, the network uses horizontal decision-making among partners and is supported by a dedicated management team. Further initiatives are planned for 2026 and beyond.

Big Pulse Dance Alliance will continue to work towards a sustainable, accessible, equitable and diverse dance culture that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Europe and at the same time pushes the boundaries of creativity and innovation. As a form of non-verbal communication, dance promotes inclusion and breaks down barriers. It facilitates cooperation across borders and promotes a shared European identity. Through dance, Europe can continue to be at the forefront of the global arts scene, creating connections that transcend language, politics and geography. Supporting dance ensures that Europe remains a vibrant, culturally rich continent, committed to artistic innovation and cultural.
